AI Revolution: For Better or For Worse

AI, is the artificial intelligence made by humans by using a highly advanced system of computing. Using algorithms and mechanical intelligence, AI can make intelligent decisions and can solve complex problems. In the past few years alone, AI has advanced so rapidly it has affected everything from the upper echelons of power in the political halls, to school classrooms. AI is everywhere and it has begun to threaten certain people’s livelihoods and jobs for the future. Everyone from journalists, to song writers, film writers, and educators. While AI can produce very good things for the future of the human race it is also as equally destabilizing as overuse of it will render most jobs for humans no longer needed sending millions into poverty.

AI is making a significant impact in many fields, but most especially in the field of education. While on the one hand it is revolutionizing the way students learn and teachers teach, there are many ways to cheat on homework, and many other detriments to learning. It is important to compare and contrast the pros and cons of AI in the classroom.

Some of the positives include personalized learning, this can make the creation of assignments by teachers easier for them. It can also make more assignments with more variety adding more fun to the classroom with different types of activities everyday. AI can add so much more possibilities to public education if used correctly and can greatly change education for the better, improving classes for all types of students. We can fluctuate the ways and speeds students learn so those who feel more comfortable at slower paces can learn more in those classes improving their likelihood in the future.

While there are many benefits, the way AI is influencing the classroom is not all good. Some of the greatest problems created by the presence of AI in the classroom include job loss, with the growth of AI many jobs are becoming obsolete. Another negative to AI is a possible dependence on technology, which limits individual thought, and has the potential to monotonized society. There are also security risks to using AI. In order for an AI to work the way it does, it has to have access to vast amounts of data. Much of that data is sensitive, and could cause huge problems if in the wrong hands. And lastly, one of the greatest threats AI causes is that there are no laws about AI yet, The government has not yet grown to match AI and its regulations and uses. This could cause big problems because as of now there are no limits on how it can be used. A tool as powerful as AI needs to be controlled.

To conclude, the use of AI in the classroom will be a remarkable opportunity or a significant challenge for the future of education. As we move forward, it is vital to balance between harnessing AI's potential to enhance learning, improve efficiency, and provide insights, while also protecting the human part of education, creativity, and critical thinking. By creating a partnership between AI and teachers, we can create a learning environment where technology complements instead of replacing the teacher's role, ensuring that our students receive the best of both worlds, an education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
