Buffaloes Snap Losing Streak with Late Touchdown

The Republic County Buffaloes took on the Bennington Bulldogs last Friday night at RCHS stadium. The night saw Republic County football pick up their first win of the season, defeating Bennington 18-14.

The first half of the game was all RepCo. A touchdown on the opening drive and another touchdown by the Buffs marked the game at 12-0 at halftime. Bennington surged back after halftime and overtook the Buffs with a score of 14-12. The crowd was on their toes hoping for a Republic County comeback touchdown. The Buffaloes delivered with less than 1 minute left in the game. With 18 seconds on the clock, Bennington attempted to drive downfield but was intercepted by Sophomore Levi White. QB Kash Henke kneeled the ball and put the win in the record books.

Here is a look at the Buffaloes Stats for the Game.

This win breaks a 12-game losing streak by the Buffs. Coach Hodgson says Friday’s win will be a confidence boost and a motivating force for the team going forward. Republic County now sits at 1-3 on the season. The Buffaloes take on the Herington Railers this Friday, October 5th.
