JV Buffs Triumphant with Last Second Touchdown

The whistle blows, loud cheers echo through the stands, and fans on the edge of their seats.  At the most pivotal point in the ballgame sophomore Tanner Inglsbee causes a fumble against the Lyons quarterback.  Freshman Greyson Novak picked up the fumble and returned the ball 20 yards to get tackled with 1 second left in the game. To win the game the Buffs needed to score on their final play. Quarterback Draven Johnson then connected with Grady Siemsen for the game-winning touchdown as time expired.

Our Repco JV didn't just put on a show for our community this week against the Lyons. Not only did they play aggressively until the last second of the game but they also had minimal mistakes throughout the game. According to Assistant Coach Mikel Cottenmyre, they have had many underclassmen step up into leading positions this year. Although it may be a little soon for the boys, the coaches believe they are ready and would not put them in the position if it meant they would fail.

Thanks to the boys full JV schedule this year it is crucial for the younger players to capitalize on the opportunity of playing time. Yes, JV may not be on the same level as varsity but they make a large contribution to the team. The boys next junior varsity game is on October 7, at home.

Please come support and cheer on our Repco Buffaloes!
