Sowing Seeds of Success: Kadence Henke's High School Journey

Kadence Henke, One of Republic County Jr/Sr High School’s 2023 Homecoming Candidates is one of the best students, and also one of the best athletes at our school. So it’s no big surprise that she was elected a Homecoming Candidate. Throughout high school, Kadence has been an active participant in a wide range of activities and is actively involved in the community.

Kadence is a high-achieving student, a dedicated athlete, and a committed member of various school organizations. Her long list of extracurricular activities includes Cross Country, Basketball, Track, Student Council, National Honor Society (NHS), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), KAYS (Kansas Association for Youth), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Science Club, Band, and Jazz Band. The way she participates in all these activities shows some of her many interests.

One of Kadence's favorite high school memories was during her junior year when she went to state track. Her 4x800 relay team got 6th place. When she later reflected on this experience, Kadence said, "It was a great opportunity to represent my school while getting to spend more time with my peers." This accomplishment shows her great athletic abilities and her ability to work well in a team. Another one of Kadence’s favorite high school memories is the spirit days and pep rallies of previous homecomings. She especially loved "Adam Sandler Day" from last year.

After high school, Kadence Henke plans on attending Kansas State University, where she wants to enroll in the Prelaw program. After that, she aims to continue her education at an undecided law school to earn her Juris Doctorate (Juris Degree). Her commitment to pursuing a career in law shows her dedication to academic excellence and making a difference in the legal field. In addition to her academic and athletic achievements, Kadence is good at card tricks.

When I asked her if she had the opportunity to spend a day with any historical figure who it would be, she said she would choose Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ginsburg was the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and a tireless activist for women's rights. She sees Justice Ginsburg as a role model for women everywhere and values her contributions to society.

If Kadence were to write a book about her high school career, she would call it "High School with Kadence." This title shows her active presence in her school community.

Her high school experience is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and the positive impact she has made on her peers and teachers alike. Congratulations Kadence, and Good luck for Homecoming.
