Kendrick Lamar to Headline Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

On Sunday, September 8, Kendrick Lamar announced in a YouTube video that he would be performing at the Apple Music Halftime Show during Super Bowl LIX.

Soon after the video, Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL confirmed the announcement in a news release, and the NFL posted a promotional poster on X that showed Lamar sitting on a football field.

Kendrick performed at Super Bowl LVI in 2022, along with a slate of other industry greats such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.

This performance comes during a big year for K-Dot, who had been taking the public spotlight for his feud with Drake earlier this year. The two musicians fired back and forth releasing diss tracks that contained familial insults and outlandish accusations. The historic battle spawned the hit songs “Not Like Us”, “Push Ups”, and “Like That”, along with many more.

Through the years, Kendrick Lamar has won 17 Grammy Awards and countless other awards and cultural achievements. Seth Dudowsky, the NFL Head of Music, said that "Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar". His Grammy-winning record Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City is often regarded as one of the most influential albums of our time, telling the story of a 16-year-old boy and his struggles with gang violence and racial injustice in Compton, California.

You can watch him perform his countless smash hits at Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
