Late But Always Worth the Wait: The Zach Piroutek Story

Zach Piroutek is a great guy to be around. People like to be around him. This is one of the reasons why he is one of this year’s Homecoming Candidates. Zach participates in Football, Wrestling, Track, the school play, and Robotics. After high school, Zach plans on going to K-State, Salina, where he will go deeper into the field of Robotics.

One of Zach’s favorite memories from High School was the time that he and Dillon Burnett rode bikes in the school. Zach’s favorite Homecoming memory also happened with Dillon. He and Dillon added a lot of fun to Homecoming by bringing a couch to the Bonfire last year. Only Dillon and Zach.

The possibility of being crowned Homecoming King holds a lot of significance for Zach because it is part of a personal competition with his brother. In Zach’s own words “ It makes me happy because my brother was up for Sweetheart, therefore, I’m better”

If Zach could spend a day with a historical figure, he would choose Neil Armstrong, particularly, the day when he first set foot on the moon. Zach's admiration for Armstrong's pioneering spirit and that important leap for mankind shows in his bright personality. Also, Zach would just like to go to the moon.

If Zach were to write a book about his high school experience, he would call it "Late but Always There." This title reflects Zach really well. He is dedicated, he is always there, once he gets there in the first place. Zach is one of those guys that is sometimes a little late, but always worth the wait. He makes everyone around him better, and he is just a great guy to be around. Congratulations on making Homecoming Zach, and Good luck for Friday.
