RepCo Football Team Doubled in Size

It's no secret the Republic County football team has hit a rough patch in the past seasons. Although their past seasons may not be perfect, their future has promise for success. Not only did the boys double from 20 to 40 guys on the field, but the number of participants in the weight room during the off-season also grew from 7 regular boys to now 15. According to Aden Morris, Kaden Novak, Sawyer Stephens, and Head Coach Jesse Hodgson, the team's morale and dynamic has changed drastically for the better.

For example, Junior Aden Morris and Senior Kaden Novak let me in on some of their team spirit secrets. To ensure the boys are doing all the drills to their best ability, everyone is guaranteed many high fives at the finish line of sprints from their teammates, even when they are near exhaustion. When watching the boys you do not just hear the loudness of the coaches giving advice but also the laughter from the boy's countless encouraging jokes/taunts towards each other. Yes, the boys have fun on the field but according to Sawyer Stephens, they know when it's time to be serious and ¨lock in¨.

Yet too many people have focused on the record of the team but what needs to be noticed is the team unity of the players. They do not just play for themselves, they play for each other, their coaches, and the community. So I challenge everyone this year to come and support our bigger and stronger Repco Buffs this season.

The Buffaloes look to try and take home a season-opening win. Beginning their season against the Troy Trojans tonight in Troy, KS. Let's Go Buffs!
